THE PAPER BOAT
(Glasgow, 1989; London, 1989; New York, 1990; Antwerp, 1990; Dumfries 1991; Ayr, 1994; Fife, 1996)
George Wyllie's Paper Boat, built to commemorate the
shipyards of the Clyde,
like many of his other scul?tures, made a statement and was able to be relocated
and given additional meaning.
It made seven voyages, each one with something new to say, while
always recalling the loss of the Clydeside yards.
